6 Strategies To Make Your First Million Online

The guy whom I would like to call as my Internet Marketing Mentor has built highly successful multi-million business online. Just recently I received email from him where he was talking about 6 critical strategies to implement to make first million online.

Here is Matt Lloyd’s advice that from my point of view is really useful for anybody who want to build successful business online and offline.

“So lets talk about those 6 strategies.

If you’re goal is to make six figures, that means you’re goal is to make over $100,000 in revenue per year.

Obviously, seven figures is anything over $1 million dollars, and eight figures is over $10 million dollars in revenue per year.

Most entrepreneurs and people who start a business will never even make it into the six figures, let alone the seven figures.

And getting into eight figures is very difficult. Getting into nine figures, well I haven’t got there yet (but I’m working on it!)

As you go through each level, you’ll learn that a very different skillset and mentality is needed.

The things you do to get to six figures are very different than what you do to get to seven figures.

In fact, if you keep on doing what you did to get to six figures, you’re never getting to seven figures. You have to change your role in each level, otherwise you hit a ceiling and you won’t scale.

Most entrepreneurs will hit the ceiling that matches their degree of competence. So if someone can’t get to $100,000 per year and they’ve been in business for 10 years, that means they still don’t have the skills, knowledge, or the ability to grow a business over $100,000.

Some people learn quickly, and others take longer.  Many never learn. It takes all of us different amounts of time.

I was not a fast learner in the very beginning. It took me close to three years to get to my first six figure year, and that was working very, very hard.

In 2009 and 2010, I wasn’t even coming close to doing six figures. In fact, I don’t think I even did five figures in 2009. So I wasn’t even in the “five-figure” club.

In 2011, I learned a lot and had my first 6 figure year.  And in 2012, I learned what was needed to have my first 7 figure year.

So here are 6 strategies to get into the 7 figure club:

Step 1: Build & Nurture Your List

The first major thing you should do is build your own list of email subscribers…

Most people I know who’ve made at least six figures or over a million dollars online all have their own list—and they’re all branded as the guru.

If you want to do 7 figures, you really need to have the right positioning.

That means you need to build your own brand, and you need to build your own influence. You need to build an enormous audience, but more importantly, an enormous responsive audience

When you send out an email promoting a webinar, you’ll need to get a lot of people there and influence a lot of people. And that’s usually something you have to build up time.

For me, it took three or four years to build 100,000 subscribers on my first list. And that’s because in the first few years I was starting out from scratch and I knew nothing. Just accept the fact that it takes time to learn new skills, and the first skill you need is building your list of subscribers.

Step 2: Get Good At Influencing Other People

The second thing you need to do is learn how to influence other people—you need to learn how to influence the masses…

For example, if you’re doing a webinar, or even if you’re writing emails, you need to know how to persuade someone and help them see that taking action on buying your course / service will help them.

Warning: It’s Not Easy

You just can’t learn these skills overnight. And you can’t learn it in your first few weeks or even your first few months. It can literally take years to get really good and start making money.

I would bet if you gathered together a group of 10,000 affiliates picked randomly from our industry, you could count on one hand the number who’ve made over $10 million dollars in commissions with all their affiliate programs combined.

Nevertheless, a lot of people come into this industry because that’s exactly what they want… They want millions of dollars overnight—and of course I don’t blame them!

But getting into the “7-figure club” is difficult, and I never want to make it seem like it’s easy or you could do it overnight because it’s just not that easy.

Step 3: Stay Consistent and Persistent

Being consistent and persistent means you can’t just send a few emails this week and then forget to email for two weeks…

You need to be involved in your business every single day.

For example, one of the top affiliates I know is a guy who just crossed $2 million in commissions. And he is “religious” about sending his emails every single day. He doesn’t go to sleep without sending an email.

Even when he’s traveling all around the world and he’s on planes all day long—he will be the last person to board the plane because he’s quickly typing his email. He understands this powerful concept, and he’s got to send an email every single day.

You must nurture your list and really build a strong relationship with them over time. You have to be someone who people want to follow, and that takes time to build. It took me years to build up my list to the extent I have it today. It takes years to build up a really good reputation where people do want to follow you.

For example, let’s say I wanted to start a new affiliate program from scratch…

I’m pretty confident I could make millions of dollars in any other program within a matter of months, because I’ve built a list of people who would follow me.

I obviously have people who wouldn’t, but within this industry I have built up a reasonably good reputation. Everyone does not like me of course, but a lot of people do like me.

You can do the same thing. You can build up a strong following of subscribers, but again, it’s going to take you time and you’ve got to be consistent and persistent. This means constantly communicating with your audience.

Step 4: Host Live Events

If you want to get to that level where you are doing over $1 million dollars a year, it would help you enormously if you could add live events into what you do.

When you host a live event, it’s so much more than just attending a Webinar, because you’re actually coming to a certain place, in person, where you’re able to stand up there on a stage and influence people right there on stage.

Learning how to do live events—if you do it right—can create a rush of buyers better than any other selling environment.

Promoting events is all about getting people to actually show up, and then it’s all about learning how to sell from the stage. You need to be passionate about what you’re offering so the audience relates to  you and gets excited. But then you need to learn how to sell. That’s an entirely different skill to learn.

Step 5: Get Good At Video Marketing

You need to be doing video marketing. I don’t think anyone’s going to get to $1 million dollars without posting videos of themselves online to connect and influence their audience.

Because in order to motivate people, persuade people, and influence people, there needs to be this almost face-to-face communication… and there’s no better way to do that than with a video.

In a video, you can’t see them, but they can definitely see you, and it plays a huge part making the sale. Again, I believe there’s absolute no way to get to $1 million without having some videos out there.

Step 6: Find a Mentor

Here’s the final thing I want to talk to you about today…

Every single person who makes it to eight figures—not just online but business in general—they all start out just like you.

I’m assuming most people reading this are new or they’re still struggling to grow their business or wanting to grow their business into six figures or seven figures.

Everyone starts out without knowing anything about online marketing. But all these skills can be learned. It just takes time, and it takes persistence.

You should take inspiration from knowing that everyone else who’s done it  started right where you are.

It’s possible for you too…

Therefore, if one human being can accomplish something, clearly there’s a series of steps they took in order to accomplish that goal—and it’s humanly possible that you can do it too.

As long as you can find out what those steps are, through either asking them, or learning from they’re past mistakes, or learning from different mentors and all of their past mistakes, then you can replicate their steps.

And you can replicate their success.

The success I’ve had in this industry—I would love to say it’s all been because of me because I thought of all of these things—But the truth is no, it hasn’t…

I found success because I found mentors, I found people I could learn from, I modelled this idea, I modelled that idea, I learned from this mistake, that mistake. Then I pieced it all together and formed something of my own that was drawn from many, many different sources through my experience.

You can do the exact same thing to build your own business, and eventually if you work hard enough, you could get to eight figures.

So let’s sum it up. If you want to join the 8-figure club…

1. Build & nurture your list

2. Get good at influencing other people

3. You should to be marketing constantly, consistently and persistently.

4. Host webinars and live events

5. Get good at video marketing

6. Find a mentor to cut your learning curve

I hope this helps you on your journey to getting into the “8-figure club.”

And if you want to cut your learning curve even faster, let me reveal to you my secret system for success…

In February of 2010, after several years of struggle, I heard about a small group of people who had discovered a unique way to make money online.

I tried their method and quickly made $15,200 CASH!

Best of all—this money came from ONE transaction.

My entire life was transformed at that moment! Because now I could for one week and take the rest of the month off.

4-Surprising Ways to Get Your First Few Sales Online

Wi-Fi Millionaire SystemI’m going to give you some advice I wish someone had given me when starting out, about making your first few sales online.

The first and very most important thing for any startup business is to focus ALL your energy on getting your first few sales, because those first sales will start bringing in cash. You need that cash flow as soon as possible.

Here’s why you should go after the money first: Most people focus on all the wrong things when they’re getting started. When they start running out of money, they panic and a few months later, they usually just quit the whole business.

For example, a friend of mine started an online business. He started writing on his blog every day, but one day I noticed it had been a few months since I had seen his blog, so I asked him what happened.

Without fully realizing it, he was spending all his time creating a fancy logo. He was getting all the latest plug-ins. He was busy, so it felt like he was getting something done.

A week went by, then a month went by, and after three months he had not made a single dollar. After a while of continuing to have nothing coming in, while you’re spending all this time doing all of these things, that really starts to almost get depressing.

You know, a lot of people they go through this same exact situation. After half a year they’ve spent all this time doing all of this stuff they thought would bring them money, but no cash is actually showed up in their bank account.

Let’s assume right now that you’re at Point A and just getting started.

Your next goal—Point B—is you’re having an online business or any business that’s bringing you cash flow.

If you want to get from point A to point B in the shortest amount of time possible, with the least resistance, you want to go there with a straight line. But most people get distracted. They are zig-zagging, taking a very long path, and wasting time.

You’ve got your offer—whatever offer it is you’re promoting. Let’s say you’re a MOBE affiliate and you’re promoting MOBE, or let’s say you’re an affiliate for another company you found on ClickBank or wherever it is.

You have a very simple goal, the straight line, which is to get people to click that link and be exposed to the offer to actually see the offer. People click the link, they watch the offer, they watch the sales presentation, and a small percentage of them will buy. When they do, you get a commission.

So that would be my advice to anyone who’s starting out. Just pick that shortest line from point A to point B, find the offer, and focus on getting people to that offer.

Place Online Ads

You’re only goal in life at this point—is to get traffic landing on your offer page, and buying whatever you’re promoting.

Focus all your efforts to get people in front of the offer. If you are targeting the right people—the people actually interested in whatever product or services being sold—then a few of them will click your ad and go to your offer landing page.

If you have enough people in front of the offer, then a small percentage of them will buy. And even if it’s only one or two percent… you can still make millions.

I mean, I’ve made hundreds of millions of dollars on those kind of “low” numbers. Less than one-or-two percent of people who see my advertising are actually buying. But I still make very good money on those low percentages.

If you’ve got the right mindset, and you’re ready to start making cash online, the secret is pretty simple: Start by placing ads online.

When you have enough people clicking your ads, and they’re the right people, a small percentage of them will buy—and you will start getting paid.

Stick with just ONE marketing method

Here’s a tip that will help you avoid the trap most people fall right into…

Don’t waste your time trying to learn ten different marketing methods of getting traffic.

Most people starting out will fall into this trap of trying all kinds of “traffic sources.” They try one traffic method. It doesn’t immediately work because they’re still very new at it, and then maybe they get an email from some guru telling them about this new secret traffic source.

They buy that product, and now they’re on to learning the next traffic method. They constantly jump from one to the next, and they never truly master one traffic method or become proficient in it. And again, that causes no money to show up.

To summarize, if I were starting all over again from scratch and wanted to start making money quickly online, I would do the following four-things:

1. Avoid distractions — Don’t get caught up in designing a logo or getting all the latest plug-ins. Just stick with promoting your products.

2. Get from point A-to-B — Remember the quickest way from point A to point B is a straight line. Your goal is to get people to click that Ad link and to actually see the offer.

3. Set up Paid Ads to drive traffic to your offer page, and a small percentage of people will buy your offer. That’s how you get paid.

4. Stick with ONE marketing method — I would just focus on Facebook marketing at first.

However, if you really want to cut your learning curve—and start making money as soon as today, I have an even better option for you.

Matt Lloyd just released his new eBook Wi-Fi Millionaire which shows you how to make a Full-Time Income Working Part-Time, from Anywhere in the world—with simply a Wi-Fi connection.

Wi-Fi Millionaire is based on his experience of building a $150 million company while traveling the world and working virtually from tropical locations like Fiji, Costa Rica, Cancun, and the Caribbean islands.

In it, you’ll learn how to make work fit your life, not the other way around, and build a strong financial foundation for retirement at the same time.

And you’ll learn the marketing strategies that could make you more in just 5-hours a week than most people make working 50-hours a week.

In fact, if you’re willing to rethink everything you know about “work” then you can take advantage of this “New Economy” and make more money than you ever dreamed possible.

This book will get you on the path to success much faster. The best part, it’s only $3.

What is Traffic Masters Academy

As a business owner, whether it’s online business or any commercial business offline, you know that flow of customers or visitors to your website are the blood that grows your business and makes it successful. If your products or services are not seen, you actually have no business.

That is why building traffic to your website is one of the main activities you need to perform daily.

There are two types of traffic, organic or “free” and paid traffic when you pay to increase number of visitors to your site.

Just recently I read very interesting article on the subject of traffic published by Matt Lloyd, founder of one of the most successful businesses on line called MOBE, My Online Business Education.

I thought this information might be useful for my readers that is why I posted full article below. The title of the article is:

Why Paid Traffic Is Your Best Option for Growth

Many people who are new to marketing online don’t understand the difference between targeted and untargeted traffic.

A simple way to think of it is to imagine I’m offering a course on marketing. In one room, there’s a group of marketers. In the room next door, there’s a group of gardeners. If I offered the marketing course to both groups, which would you expect to generate the most sales?

The group of marketers, of course.

The reason is because the group of marketers represents a targeted audience—they have an active interest in the information I’m providing, so they’re far more likely to buy what I’m selling.

Paid vs. Free Traffic

This kind of targeted traffic is what you should focus on with your own business. And the best way to get targeted traffic is to pay for it.

Paid traffic is better than so-called “free” traffic for several reasons. For starters, there’s no such thing as free; if you’re not paying money for traffic, you’re paying for it with your time and labor, so it’s not free.

Paid traffic is much faster, too. When you buy traffic, you’re seeing activity right away. You may need to make adjustments or changes to your advertising to achieve the results you want, but at least you have something to work with. Unlike with free traffic, where you’re waiting around hoping that visitors will show up.

And paid traffic is infinitely more scalable. Once you commit to investing in your business, your traffic purchases will increase accordingly—and more quality traffic eventually leads to more sales.

Another advantage to paid traffic is that it’s predictable. You know, for example, that if you put $1 into a good traffic source and you get $1.20 back in revenue, chances are you’ll get similar returns going forward.

Business Is Built for Speed

When you’re just starting out, it’s tempting to say that you’re not ready to do paid traffic yet. That you want to get up and running first, or maybe get some commissions coming in before you invest money in traffic. So you hold back and try to go the free route, which is a mistake.

It’s the wrong approach because it’s slow, and you don’t want anything slow in your business. Business is built for speed. Everything should be moving quickly to propel you to the next level. The most successful info-marketing businesses in the world were all built upon paid traffic.

To give you a better idea of what I mean, let me share my own experience.

In October 2011, I had my first $7,000 month. The next month it grew to $15,000. Then, in December, that number rose again to $45,000. In January 2012, it climbed up to $81,000. And by March I was making $150,000 per month.

When I did $7,000 in a month, I was probably spending $2,000 to $3,000 on paid traffic. To get to $150,000 per month, I just scaled it up to closer to $30,000 to $40,000 per month. That’s what’s possible with paid traffic.

And that’s why, when people ask me how I grew MOBE like I did, my answer is, “I was just doing paid traffic.”

Now, some people may say, “That’s great for you, Matt. But I don’t have that kind of money.”

Fair enough. But it doesn’t matter. Just start from wherever you are, even if you only have $100 per week to spend on traffic.

But start buying traffic and, as the money starts to come in, reinvest as much of it as you can—because that’s how businesses are built.

Matt Lloyd

I hope that Matt’s article will help you to grow your online business further.

Getting Your Website Online Fast

Today I would like to share with you very interesting information that I received by email from Matt Lloyd, the founder and owner of one of the fastest growing business online called MOBE (My Online Business Education).

matt-lloyd-im-freedom-workshopMatt talked about important things related to building successful business online, but one article particularly caught my attention where he shared his thoughts how to publish your own website online fast.

I am sure this information will be very useful especially for newbies who just started their journey on the worldwide Web.

Here is this article.

If you’re new to Internet marketing, you’re probably somewhere in the middle of a seemingly unending learning curve. With this article, I want to demystify three basic things so that you can make faster progress.

It’s Like Building a House

I don’t envy anyone who is new to Internet marketing. Back in 2008, when I started out, it was confusing enough—so much information and seemingly complex technology. Today, there’s even more of it.
It can seem overwhelming and I think one of the biggest reasons is because so much of it is intangible; for instance, “hosting.” What does that look like? Where can I see it?
So to make this as easy as possible, I am going to liken it to building a house, where domain is the address, hosting is the actual land, and WordPress is the building material.

Domain
domain-name-header-logoHave you ever shopped online at eBay or Amazon? Streamed a movie on Netflix or Hulu? Searched for something on Google? If you said “yes,” then you have at least some experience with domain.
The name of a website—including its “.com” or “.net” or whatever—is that website’s domain. It’s also called a “domain name.”
If you look up the word “domain” in a dictionary, you will see that one of its meanings is “the territory governed by a single ruler or government.” Now, eBay or Netflix or any other business or person isn’t a ruler or government, but they are the owner of that domain name and the website that has the name. So in a way, it is their territory. They are the “ruler” of the website, deciding how it looks, deciding on the content, etc. (More on that below.)
If you want to have a website for your business, the first thing you would do is get a domain. It’s actually a three-step process:

Step 1. Choose a domain name.
Keep it simple and easy to understand. You want a name that people can understand immediately and remember. To accomplish this, use no more than four words. Shorter is always better. Be aware of things like hyphens or underscores, double letters (Ss, Ts, etc.), or unusual words. Try out your domain name on your friends or family. If you have many people asking you to clarify anything about the name, perhaps it may not be a good choice. Simplify the name further or try a different one.

Step 2. Verify that the domain name and extension is available (i.e., no one else is already using it.)
There are websites, such as Go Daddy where you can search domain availability. When you search your name, you may see that several variations of your name are available, including “.com,” “.net,” among many others. Although “.com” is the most desirable domain extension (since it’s the most common), it may not always be readily available—meaning that someone else already owns it.
So if you find that your name is not available as a “.com,” you might want to either select a different domain extension, or modify your name slightly. You may get the name you want on the first try or you may have to play with the process a bit. It’s best to have a few different choices, in case your first choice isn’t available.

Step 3. Purchase the domain name.
When you’ve confirmed that the name you want is available, you can purchase it. Go Daddy charges less than $15 for a domain name. However, you will have to re-register the name annually for a small fee to maintain ownership.
The domain is the name of your website and it’s also the address of the website. People can type it into the address bar of their web browser, hit “enter” and go visit your website from anywhere in the world. It’s like telling a taxicab driver the address of where you want to go and having him drive you there.

Hosting
Affordable-Web-HostingWhile surfing the web, have you ever wondered “Where are websites actually located?” It’s a good question. Every website has an actual physical location somewhere in the world.
There are companies that own many high-performance computers—large rooms or even entire floors of an office building full of these computers. They rent disc space on these computers to people who own websites. You upload all of the files for your website—text, photo, video, etc.—onto one of their computers. So the company is the host and your files are the “guests.”
There are many hosting companies, including Blue Host, Host Gator and others (Google “website hosting”.) For someone just starting out, hosting typically costs between $6 and $15 per month. Some companies give a discount if you buy one or two years in advance.
Very large companies, like eBay or YouTube, don’t use web hosting services. Their websites contain thousands of pages and are visited by so many users per day that they need to maintain control of their own hosting computers (called “servers,” because they can serve many website visitors at once). As your company grows, your web hosting needs will change. They will cost more and eventually, you might even bring it all in-house.
So, think of web hosting like “land” for you to build your website on. Now, you just need some building materials.

WordPress
There is a website called WordPress.com, which advertises “Create a free website or blog.” It really is free. And their websites and blogs look pretty good, too (for something that’s free.)
My main problem with WordPress is that your domain name (which you would search and select on the WordPress.com site, rather than on an outside domain provider like Go Daddy) will include the word “wordpress” in it. For a business, that screams “amateur!” So, for that reason, I don’t recommend building a free site for your business on WordPress.
However, there is a lot more to WordPress than free blogs and websites. WordPress is also a content management system (CMS). This is a kind of computer program that makes it easy for non-computer geeks to create and maintain websites.
Years ago, you had to know various computer languages and know how to write computer code if you wanted to build a website. With a CMS, all the code has been written and you get the basic structure of the website to work with. You can add, remove or change the content—colours, text styles, photos, additional pages, etc. CMS programs are very visual, “drag and drop” affairs—much easier than coding from scratch.
Some web hosting companies make a basic version of WordPress available. You would just download it from the host to your website and then begin adding your files. If your hosting company doesn’t provide it, you could buy it from WordPress.net (not .com) and upload it to your website.
Though it will make your life much easier in the long run, WordPress does have a little bit of a learning curve to follow—to upload it to your site and to work with it.
But it’s still much easier than learning code. I would recommend that you go to YouTube.com and type in “How to install WordPress” and then “How to use WordPress” or “How to build a website with WordPress.” It would probably only take a few hours of video-watching to get a pretty good grip on how to use it.
On the other hand, if you can’t spare the time, there are plenty of WordPress experts out there. For $50 or $100 (maybe less), you can hire a freelancer on a website like Upwork.com to upload WordPress to your hosting and create the basic site.
But I would still recommend that you develop some basic WordPress skills so that you can update your website or change parts of it when you need to. If you’re just started out in business, hiring someone every time you need website changes or updates can become expensive and can also create delays.
WordPress is the basic material you use to build your website.

Final Thoughts                                                                                                                                                            So now you have an address, a piece of land and building materials. I trust that this analogy has helped you to better understand these three things and how they work together. Continue to expose yourself to it. The more you do, the quicker it will become like second nature.
